Financing
You know how KOSMA works out Received and Outstanding from the cash flow dates, and why a plan can show nothing received.
**Received** is the part of the financing that has already arrived. **Outstanding** is the part that has not arrived yet. KOSMA works out both from the dates in the cash flow rules, so you can show a funder what has arrived without keeping a list yourself.
In the grid, the **Received** column shows a percentage on each source, group and country row. You cannot edit it. When you point at the column header, KOSMA shows:

A source without installments shows 0 % until the date of its cash flow rule has passed, and 100 % after that. A source with installments shows the sum of the installments whose date has passed as a share of the sum of all its installments. A group or country row shows the share of all sources in it. An installment row shows  once its date has passed.
You never mark a payment as received. KOSMA compares the dates of each cash flow rule with today. A date counts once it is over: a payment dated today counts from tomorrow. The figures therefore change as the dates pass, without anyone updating them.
A source without installments counts as fully received once the first date of its cash flow rule has passed, even if the rule has more dates. To count a payment in several parts, give the source installments. Each installment has its own cash flow rule and counts once its own date has passed. The rail next to the grid shows two totals for the whole plan. **Received** is the sum of what has arrived from every source that is not deactivated. **Outstanding** is **Financing** minus **Received**.
**Pending** in the rail is one of the status totals. It has nothing to do with **Outstanding**.
An empty cell on one source means that this source has no cash flow rule or an amount of 0. If the whole plan shows nothing received, one of these is the cause:
- If no source and no installment in the plan has a cash flow rule, KOSMA hides the **Received** column. Give the sources cash flow rules. See [set a cash flow rule on a source](/kb/article/set-a-cashflow-rule-on-a-source). - If every date in the plan is still in the future, every source with a cash flow rule shows 0 %. - If a cash flow rule pays at a milestone and the first shooting day in the linked budget has no date, the row stays at 0 %. Neither depends on the other. A **Confirmed** source can stay at 0 % received for months. A **Submitted** source can already be partly received. For what each status means, see [what the source status means](/kb/article/what-the-source-status-means).
