Budgeting
You can show the formula in a calculated cell instead of its result, and you know where else the same button appears.
In Budgeting, the **Quantity**, **Price/Unit** and **X** columns show the result of each cell. To see what each cell contains instead, such as a formula with a variable, click  in the toolbar. Click it again to see the results. When you point at the button, KOSMA shows:

Each time you open Budgeting, the grid shows the results.
A number typed into a cell and a number calculated from a variable look the same in the grid. The formula view shows which of the two a cell holds.
The formula view helps in three cases:
- You take over a budget from someone else: you see which amounts are typed and which come from a formula. - You want to change a variable: you see which cells use it. - You want to know how an account is calculated: you read its formulas.
KOSMA changes only what the grid displays. It recalculates nothing, saves nothing and changes no total. You can switch as often as you like.
In Budgeting and Financing, you can also switch with ⌘E on a Mac or Ctrl+E on Windows. If you can only read the open budget, for example on a Free licence, the shortcut does nothing; click the button instead.
You find the same button in these places:
- in **Overview/Markups**, where it also switches the **Base** column - in the Financing toolbar - in the **Extra Costs** settings dialog - in the **Fringes & Supplements** and **Extra Costs** panels of the account details - in the **Info** widget of the topsheet
In the dialog, the panels and the widget, the button switches only the fields of that dialog, panel or widget. Cost Control and Cash Flow have no such button.
