Split costs between companiesBudgetingYou can define the companies on a production and split any account between them by percentage or by amount.On a coproduction each partner carries an agreed share of the budget. Companies are how KOSMA records who carries what.1. Define the companiesIn the account details, click the settings icon and choose **Companies**. Click **+ Company** and name each partner.The list is flat — no groups — and the **Visibility** toggle hides a company from the pickers without removing it from the accounts already assigned to it.2. Assign an accountSelect the account and open the **Companies** panel in the account details. Choose a company from the dropdown and enter its share.3. Percentage or amountThe share is a percentage by default. **Click the percent sign to switch the field to an absolute amount** instead.Use the percentage for a straightforward split and the amount when a partner's contribution to a line is a fixed sum rather than a proportion — a flat contribution to a shared facility, for instance.4. Assign more than oneAn account can be split between several companies.
