First Steps
You can report a problem to the KOSMA team from inside KOSMA, with screenshots and the KOSMA logs, and you know where the reply goes.
Send the KOSMA team a bug report from inside KOSMA, with screenshots and log files. For how-to questions, see [get help from inside KOSMA](/kb/article/get-help-from-inside-kosma).
In a project window, click **Help** ▸ **Report a bug…**. In an error message, the link **Report error to developers** opens the same dialog with the error text filled in, also in the **Project Manager**, where the menu item is greyed out.
Under **Short Description**, enter one line, for example "Budget total stays at 0 after import". Under **What happened?**, write what you did and what KOSMA showed.
Drag up to 5 files onto the attachment area, or click **Select file**. KOSMA skips files over 2 MB and tells you so.
KOSMA records what it does in log files. Without them, the team can rarely find the cause. Tick **Attach KOSMA application logs** to add the logs of about the last two days, at most 20 MB. KOSMA blanks out your sign-in data, but names of projects and people can remain.
KOSMA saves the logs as a zip file in your Downloads folder and deletes it after sending. To check it first, click the file name to show it in Finder or Explorer. If you then change the screenshots, KOSMA unticks the box. Tick it again.
**Submit** turns active once both fields are filled and, if you ticked the logs, the zip file is listed. Click it. KOSMA shows the number of your report. The team replies by email to your account address, shown at the bottom of the dialog. To add something, reply to that email.
**If sending failed.** If the dialog stays open, nothing was sent, for example because you are offline: click **Submit** again later. If an error message gives a report number, give it to support: see [get help from inside KOSMA](/kb/article/get-help-from-inside-kosma).
