First Steps
You can redeem a team invitation code and know where the redeeming actually happens.
If a company bought KOSMA for a team, your licence arrives as an **invitation code** rather than as a purchase you make yourself. The code looks like `KOSMA-XXXX-XXXX`.
It is on the sign-in screen as **Enter invitation code**, so you can redeem before you have signed in.
It goes into **Invitation code**.
Your browser opens — the dialog says so before it happens.
The licence panel updates when the window regains focus.
**KOSMA does not redeem the code — the website does.** The dialog collects it and hands it over. That matters if the browser does not open or you close it: the code is not "used up", and you can start again.
You still need a KOSMA account. An invitation grants a licence to an account; it does not create one. If you do not have one yet, [create your KOSMA account](/kb/article/create-your-kosma-account) first.
**If nothing changes after redeeming.** Same as an upgrade: click into the KOSMA window so it re-checks, and confirm you redeemed against the account you are signed in with here — see [upgrade your licence](/kb/article/upgrade-your-licence).
