Budgeting
You can bring a budget from Movie Magic Budgeting, SESAM-Kalk or your own Excel file into KOSMA, and you know what you rebuild afterwards.
KOSMA has no import of its own for Movie Magic Budgeting or SESAM-Kalk. You export the budget to Excel and load the file with the spreadsheet import. Whichever program the budget comes from, KOSMA takes over only the structure and the numbers. Fringes, supplements, effects, formulas and the other account details do not come across, and you rebuild them by hand in KOSMA.
KOSMA is working on an automatic import. Until then, the KOSMA team imports your budgets for you as a service: from Movie Magic, SESAM, Excel and from your company's own templates. Write to <support@kosma.io>.
In Movie Magic Budgeting, choose **File** > **Export** and export the whole budget as an Excel file. In SESAM-Kalk, open the report **Hauptausdruck** or **Kostenzusammenstellung** under **Auswertungen** and export it as Excel. The menu **Transfer** in SESAM-Kalk only passes data to SESAM-Fibu, SESAM-Kost and DFFF, not to KOSMA. If your budget is already an Excel file, go on with step 2.
Open the file in your spreadsheet program and give the columns these names in the first row of the first sheet:
The names also work in German and French, for example Kategorie or Gruppe, and the order of the columns does not matter.
Delete the title rows above the column names and the total rows that a report contains. Save the file as .xlsx. Which rows become accounts and what each column must hold is in [import a budget from a spreadsheet](/kb/article/import-a-budget-from-a-spreadsheet).
In Budgeting, choose **Import Data** in the project menu, click **Load .xlsx File** and choose the file. KOSMA adds the categories, groups and accounts to the budget.
Every number arrives as a fixed number, even where the old program calculated it with a formula. Add [formulas](/kb/article/write-a-formula) where a number must depend on other numbers again. In the **Account Details** panel, **Companies**, **Effects**, **Fringes & Supplements**, **Extra Costs** and **Taxes** stay empty on every account; see [how account details work](/kb/article/how-account-details-work). Assign the fringes and supplements again, see [apply fringes and supplements](/kb/article/apply-fringes-and-supplements). Assign the effects again, see [define and assign effects](/kb/article/define-and-assign-effects). KOSMA creates no markups, so add them again too; see [add and edit markups](/kb/article/add-and-edit-markups).
