First Steps
You can install KOSMA on your Windows PC and start it.
KOSMA is a desktop app. You need a PC with Windows 10 or later. On a Mac, see [install KOSMA on a Mac](/kb/article/install-kosma).
Open [kosma.io/download](https://kosma.io/download) in your browser and click **Download for Windows**. Your browser saves the file `KOSMA-installer.exe`, usually in your Downloads folder.
Double-click `KOSMA-installer.exe`. The installer shows the licence agreement; tick **I agree to the End-User License Agreement** to continue. If Windows shows *Windows protected your PC*, click **More info**, then **Run anyway**. KOSMA installs into your own user folder, `C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\KOSMA`, so Windows does not ask for a password.
When the installation is complete, the installer adds KOSMA to your Start menu. Open KOSMA from the Start menu to see the sign-in screen.
If you do not have a KOSMA account yet, create one first, see [create your KOSMA account](/kb/article/create-your-kosma-account). Then click **Sign in with browser** on the sign-in screen. The steps are in [log in to KOSMA](/kb/article/log-in-to-kosma).
**Use KOSMA on a second computer.** Install KOSMA on the second computer and sign in with the same account. You do not need to copy any files. The projects you have uploaded to the server are available on the second computer. You can be signed in on one computer at a time: signing in on the second computer ends the session on the first. See [how your work is saved and synced](/kb/article/how-your-work-is-saved-and-synced).
