First Steps
You can install KOSMA on your Mac and start it.
KOSMA is a desktop app. You need a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 12 or later. To see which chip your Mac has, choose **About This Mac** in the Apple menu. KOSMA for Windows is not available yet.
Open [kosma.io/download](https://kosma.io/download) in your browser and click **Download for Mac**. Your browser saves the file `KOSMA-installer.pkg`, usually in your Downloads folder.
Double-click `KOSMA-installer.pkg` and follow the steps of the installer. The installer shows the licence agreement, and you must accept it to continue. macOS asks for the password of an administrator of the Mac. KOSMA is installed in your Applications folder.
When the installation is complete, KOSMA starts and shows the sign-in screen. Later, you start KOSMA from your Applications folder.
If you do not have a KOSMA account yet, create one first, see [create your KOSMA account](/kb/article/create-your-kosma-account). Then click **Sign in with browser** on the sign-in screen. The steps are in [log in to KOSMA](/kb/article/log-in-to-kosma).
**Use KOSMA on a second Mac.** Install KOSMA on the second Mac and sign in with the same account. You do not need to copy any files. The projects you have uploaded to the server are available on the second Mac. You can be signed in on one Mac at a time: signing in on the second Mac ends the session on the first. See [how your work is saved and synced](/kb/article/how-your-work-is-saved-and-synced).
