Financing
You know the four levels a financing plan is built from, which rows carry an amount and why an add button is greyed out.
A financing plan lists who pays for a production and how much each funder pays. KOSMA arranges the plan as a tree with four levels, from the country down to the single payment.

Each group belongs to a country, each source to a group and each installment to a source. KOSMA shows installment rows in italics, in a lighter font and on a grey background. See [what installments are for](/kb/article/what-installments-are-for).
You type an **Amount** only in a source row. A group row and a country row show the sum of the sources below them, and the **Financing Total** row shows the sum of all sources in the plan. When you change a source's amount, KOSMA updates its group, its country and **Financing Total**. An installment row shows its part of the source's amount. You cannot change this amount in the grid, and KOSMA does not include it in any total.
The toolbar has one add button per level:  **Country**,  **Group**,  **Source** and  **Installment**. You add each level below the level above it. For the steps, see [add countries, groups and sources](/kb/article/add-countries-groups-and-sources).
**Group** is greyed out until you select a country or a row below it. **Source** is greyed out until you select a group, a source or an installment. **Installment** is greyed out until you select a source or an installment. Pointing at a greyed-out button does not tell you which level is missing. If all four buttons stay greyed out, you cannot edit this plan, for example because your licence does not cover Financing. Beside the tree, KOSMA shows **Grand Totals in {currency}**, with the display currency you choose in the toolbar, for example EUR. There, KOSMA compares the plan's financing with the budget or cost control set the plan is linked to. It also splits the financing by status into **Confirmed**, **Submitted** and **Pending**, and by payment into **Received** and **Outstanding**.
