Budgeting
You can mark rows for attention without changing anything about them.
**Highlight** marks the selected rows. It changes no value and no total — the tooltip says as much: *highlights account without affecting calculations*.
Select one or more rows and click **Highlight**. Clicking again clears them. The button is a plain toggle — it has no menu.
Use the [Filter panel](/kb/article/filter-a-budget) and add a **Highlighted** filter. To clear the marks again, select the rows and click **Highlight** a second time.

It is a **working marking**, not a classification. Where a marking should persist and mean something, use a [tag](/kb/article/use-tags-on-accounts); highlight is the working set you clear as you resolve each row.

The first two are easy to confuse and are opposites in the way that matters: highlight touches no number, deactivate changes every total above the row.
