Cash Flow
You can find the financing sources whose income is missing from the cash flow plan and give each one a cash flow rule.
A financing source without a cash flow rule is missing from every period of the cash flow plan. You find these sources from the plan and give each one a rule in Financing. For this you need the **Production** licence or a running **Trial**. With **Budget** or **Cost Control**, you can open the financing plan but not change it.
When every expense of the plan has a rule and a source still has none, the financing plan line under **Linked Sources** shows  with a red bubble. The bubble opens by itself and says:
There are sources (=incomes) in your financing plan which do not have a cash flow rule. The cash flow display of the income is incomplete.

While the bubble is there, you can point at  on the financing plan line. KOSMA then shows how many sources have no rule and how much income is missing:
{number} sources have no cash flow rule, so {amount} is not in this plan
In the red bubble, click **Click here to complete**. KOSMA opens Financing on the financing plan the cash flow plan reads. The grid lists every source of the financing plan, with and without a rule.
In the **Source Details** column, a source with a valid cash flow rule shows a dot for it. When you point at the dot, KOSMA shows:
Cash-flow rule applied to this account
A source without this dot has no valid rule.
The dot shows only a rule on the source itself. The rules of its installments never light it, so a source with installments can show no dot although nothing of it is missing. Installment rows show no dots either. You open the rules of the installments as in step 3.
Click a source without installments. In its **Cashflow** panel, click  **Edit cashflow rule**. KOSMA opens **Set Cash Flow Rule**. For the settings in it, see [set a cash flow rule on a source](/kb/article/set-a-cashflow-rule-on-a-source).
A source with installments puts nothing into the plan itself. Each installment carries its own rule, and an installment without a rule of its own uses the rule of its source. Click the source or one of its installments in the grid, then click  **Installment** in the toolbar. KOSMA opens **Set Cash Flow Rule – Installments** for the source.
Most subsidies pay out at fixed milestones. A rule based on milestones follows these payments.
Go back to the cash flow plan. Once every source has a rule, the red bubble no longer opens on the financing plan line. With **Combined Producers** selected under **Producer**, the plan's income now includes the total of every source without installments and every installment you gave a valid rule.
**How the rules fill the Received column.** In Financing, the **Received** column shows which share of a source has come in. KOSMA shows the column once a row of the financing plan has a valid cash flow rule. For a source without installments, **Received** shows 100 % as soon as a date of its rule is in the past, and 0 % before that. For a source with installments, it shows the part of the source's amount that falls on installments whose date is in the past.
