Budgeting
You can show only the rows of a budget that match conditions you set, and turn the filter off again.
A filter shows only the rows of a budget that match the conditions you set, for example only the accounts that have a tag. You need a budget open in Budgeting. The filter changes which rows KOSMA shows. The budget itself stays unchanged.
In the toolbar, click  **Filter**. KOSMA opens the filter panel above the grid with one empty condition. The markups view has the same button in its toolbar.
In **Select type**, choose what you want to filter by. Next to it, choose **is** or **is not**, then choose a value. The values KOSMA offers depend on the type:

With a value, **is** shows the rows that have it. With **empty**, **is** shows the rows that have nothing of that type. **is not** shows the opposite in both cases. For **Highlighted** and **Deactivated**, **is** shows the highlighted or deactivated rows, and **is not** shows all other rows.
For example, **Note** **is** **empty** shows the rows without a note. **Tag** **is not** **empty** shows only the rows that have a tag. To tag accounts, see [use tags on accounts](/kb/article/use-tags-on-accounts).
To add a condition, click  **Filter** in the filter panel. You can set up to four conditions. A row stays visible only if it matches all of them. A value that another condition already uses with the same **is** or **is not** is not offered again. A type disappears from **Select type** only when other conditions use all of its values. If nothing is left to choose for a condition, KOSMA shows this in it:

To remove a condition, click  **Delete** in its row. While only one condition is left, **Delete** is greyed out.
Click **Apply**. KOSMA shows only the matching rows in the grid, in the category list and in the markups view. **Apply** is available only when you have changed a condition since you last applied the filter.
In the markups view, KOSMA hides the categories grid at the top while a filter is applied. If no markup matches, KOSMA hides **Overview/Markups** in the category list. If no category matches, the category list shows this:

Click  **Filter** in the toolbar again. KOSMA closes the filter panel, removes the filter and shows all rows again. KOSMA keeps the conditions of each budget until you close KOSMA. When you open the filter panel again, the conditions are still there but not applied. To filter by them again, click **Apply**.
To remove all conditions and the filter but keep the filter panel open, click **Reset**.
