Financing
You know what a delete takes with it, and that clearing a plan keeps its structure.
Select a row and press **Delete**. Everything beneath it goes too, and the confirmation names what that means:
| You delete | The confirmation says | | ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Country** | *Subordinate groups, sources, and installments will be removed too* | | **Group** | *Subordinate sources and installments will be removed too* | | **Source** | *Subordinate installments will be removed too* |
So yes — a deleted group takes its sources, and a deleted source takes its installments.
You will see two different confirmations for the same kind of row, and it is not a glitch.
A row **with** rows beneath it gets the cascade warning above, naming what else disappears. A row with nothing beneath it gets the plain question — *Are you sure you want to delete this source?* — because there is nothing else to lose.
The wording is telling you how much is at stake. A cascade warning where you expected the plain one means the row has children you had not noticed.
**Pressing Delete with an installment selected opens the Set Cash Flow Rule dialog** instead of deleting anything. Installments are removed from inside that dialog — see [add installments to a source](/kb/article/add-installments-to-a-source).
**Clear Financing Plan Data** in the Edit menu is the middle option between editing a plan and deleting it.
It states its own scope: *This clears the amount and removes installments on all N financing plan item(s). Names and all other details are kept.*
So it removes:
- every **amount**, including formulas - every **installment**
and it keeps:
- every country, group and source, with its **name** and **number** - every **detail** — company, effect, tax, cash-flow rule, tags, notes, attachments
That makes it the tool for reusing a plan's shape on a new round of financing: same funders, same structure, no figures. If you want that shape available to future projects too, save it as a template first — see [save and reuse a financing template](/kb/article/save-and-reuse-a-financing-template).
Done from the Financing Plans Manager, and it is **not undoable** — the confirmation is the only safety net. Undo covers edits inside a plan, not the plan itself — see [manage financing plans](/kb/article/manage-financing-plans).
