First Steps
You can delete a project you own, or archive it instead to keep its data.
Only the project's owner can delete a project. To take a finished production off your list and keep its data, archive it instead, as described in [archive and restore a project](/kb/article/archive-and-restore-a-project).
When you delete a project, KOSMA deletes every budget, cost control set, financing plan and cash flow plan in it, on this device and on the KOSMA server. You cannot undo it.
In the projects list, click  **Open Settings** at the end of the project's row. KOSMA opens **Project Settings**.
Click **Delete Project** at the bottom of the dialog. KOSMA opens a confirmation.
Click **Delete**. KOSMA removes the project from the list.
The project belongs to someone else. If you no longer want to be a guest in it, ask the owner to remove you. The owner's steps are in [remove a guest](/kb/article/remove-a-guest).
A project that says "No longer available on the server" has no gear either. See the section below.
**If the project is back in the list.** KOSMA could not delete the project on the KOSMA server. Delete it again.
The project is no longer available to you on the KOSMA server, but this device still holds changes that were never synced. KOSMA keeps the project in your list so you do not lose them. You can open it and export it, but you cannot change it.
The changes that were never synced exist only on this device, and removing the project deletes them for good. Export a copy first if you need them.
To take it off this device, click  **Remove from this device** at the end of the project's row, then click **Remove from this device** in the confirmation.
If the project becomes available to you on the server again, the label goes away and you can work in the project again.
