First Steps
You can delete a project knowing exactly what goes with it — and choose archiving instead when that is what you actually meant.
**This is the one action in KOSMA that cannot be undone.** Read the next section before you do it.
Deleting a project removes **everything inside it** — every budget, every financing plan, every cash flow plan, every cost control set. Not just the one you were looking at.
It is removed **from this device and from the KOSMA server**, so it is not recoverable from another machine, from a colleague's copy, or by signing in again. The confirmation says as much:
Are you sure you want to delete this project? All project data — every dataset — will be permanently removed from this device and from the KOSMA server. This cannot be undone.
There is no archive of deleted projects and no undo.
**Most of the time, yes.** If the reason you are here is that a production has wrapped and you want it out of your list, that is archiving — the project stops appearing and keeps everything, and you can bring it back whenever you want.

It names what is about to go.
The project leaves the list immediately and does not appear under **Archived Projects** — there is nowhere for it to be.
**If you are not the owner.** You cannot delete a project you do not own, and leaving one is not the same thing. If you want off a project someone else owns, ask them to remove you — your leaving does not delete their production.
