You can take a source, a group or a whole country out of the plan's totals and percentages without deleting it.
**Deactivate** takes a row out of every total and every percentage above it while leaving it in the plan. The row stays visible and dimmed; the country total, the grand total and both share columns behave as though it were not there.
Select the row and click **Deactivate**. It works on a source, on a group, and on a whole country.
Deactivating a **group** carries its sources with it. Deactivating a **country** carries its groups and their sources. You do not have to switch each one off by hand.
The row keeps showing its own amount. What changes is everything computed above it — the country total, the grand total, and the Country Share and Total Share percentages, which are redistributed across what is left.
The same button reads **Activate** when the selection is already deactivated.
Reactivating a group or a country restores exactly what was switched off inside it before — a source you had deactivated individually stays deactivated. Switching a country back on does not turn everything underneath it back on.
**Answering "what if this falls through".** Deactivate the fund you are least sure of and read the financing gap. Nothing is deleted, nothing has to be undone.
**Parking a source that is not decided yet.** A pre-sale still under negotiation can sit in the plan with its amount, its currency and its notes intact, without pretending the money is there.
**Holding a calculation that must not reach the total.** This is the one that is easy to miss. A row can carry a formula you want to keep next to the plan — a comparison, a fee worked out from another source, a figure someone asked you to model — without it counting towards the financing. Deactivate it and it becomes a working note that lives in the plan, visible and calculated, but outside every total and every percentage.
