First Steps
You can create a KOSMA account and sign in to KOSMA with it.
You need an email address whose inbox you can open. If you received a team invitation code, register with the email address at which you received it, see [redeem a team invitation](/kb/article/redeem-a-team-invitation).
You cannot change the email address of your account later. Choose an address you will keep using.
If KOSMA is not installed yet, open kosma.io in your browser. If KOSMA is installed, click **Create Account** on the KOSMA sign-in screen. KOSMA opens kosma.io in your browser.
On kosma.io, click **Sign Up Free**.
Enter your email address under **Email**. Enter a password under **Password**, and the same password again under **Confirm Password**.
Click **Sign up now**. The page **Check Your Email** opens.
Within 30 minutes, open the email with the subject *KOSMA: Verify your email address* and click **Verify email address** in it.
If KOSMA is not installed yet, install it first, see [install KOSMA on a Mac](/kb/article/install-kosma) or [install KOSMA on Windows](/kb/article/install-kosma-on-windows). Then click **Sign in with browser** in KOSMA and sign in with your email address and your password. The steps are in [log in to KOSMA](/kb/article/log-in-to-kosma).
**If the link has expired.** Sign in to KOSMA as in step 6. Your browser then shows the page **Check Your Email**. Click **Resend verification email**, and confirm your address with the link in the new email.
After you click **Sign up now**, the page shows this message:
**Message:** This email address is already registered with KOSMA. Please sign in, or reset your password if you have forgotten it.
Sign in with this address as in step 6. If you have forgotten the password, click **Forgot password** on the KOSMA sign-in screen.
