Budgeting
You can move rows within their own level and copy them, and you know why drag refuses some drops.
Grab a row by its handle and drop it:
- An **account** onto another account re-parents it into that group; within its own group it reorders. - A **subaccount** onto an account re-parents it there; within its own account it reorders.
**A row can only land within its own draggable area.** An account cannot become a subaccount by dragging, and a subaccount cannot be promoted. That is why a drop is sometimes refused: the levels are fixed, and changing one means creating the row where it belongs.
Numbering does not follow a move — renumber afterwards if the order should read — see [number accounts and groups](/kb/article/number-accounts-and-groups).
Markups subtotals drag by a grip pinned at the left edge, so it stays put when the grid scrolls sideways. A subtotal re-anchors to the category above where you drop it, and the running totals re-derive.
Category rows and the pinned Net Production Costs row are not draggable — their position is what they mean.
Rows can be copied and pasted, which is the faster way to build a repeating structure — a second camera crew modelled on the first.
Copy the structure, then correct the details. What copies is the row's own values; the account details it carries are worth checking rather than assuming, particularly fringes and companies.
Multi-select and drag moves the selection together, keeping the relative order.
