Budgeting
You can choose which optional columns the budget grid shows and in which order.
Choose which optional columns the budget grid shows and in which order. You need a budget open in Budgeting. Choosing columns changes no figure in the budget, so you can do it on any budget you can open, including one you can only read.
In the grid, click  **Show or hide columns**. KOSMA opens a menu. Under **Columns**, it lists **Account Details** and **Original & Variance**. Below them, the sections **Companies**, **Effects** and **DFFF** list each company, effect and DFFF entry of the budget as a column of its own. If the budget has no effects, for example, the **Effects** section does not appear.
Tick a column to show it. Untick it to hide it again. A company, effect or DFFF column you tick also stays visible when you switch the grid to the markups view with **Overview/Markups**.

When the menu shows at least two of the sections **Companies**, **Effects** and **DFFF**, drag  **Companies**,  **Effects** or  **DFFF** up or down. KOSMA moves the columns of that block in the grid to the new place. You cannot move the columns inside a block one by one.
Drag the block you read most often to the top of the menu. The grid then shows it directly to the right of the total columns, so on a wide budget you scroll less to reach it.
KOSMA saves **Account Details**, **Original & Variance** and the order of the blocks in the budget. A copy of the budget keeps them. On a budget you cannot edit, KOSMA saves these settings for you alone.
KOSMA does not save which company, effect and DFFF columns you ticked. When you switch to another module or close KOSMA, these columns are off again.
**What a company or effect column shows.** A company or effect column shows the shares of the companies and effects you have already assigned to accounts. Ticking the column assigns nothing to any account. For more on these columns, see [show company and effect columns](/kb/article/show-company-and-effect-columns).
