Budgeting
You can choose which optional columns the grid shows and in what order, per budget.
The grid's core columns are always there. Everything else is optional, and **most of it is off by default** — which is why several features go unnoticed.
It sits in the toolbox at the right of the grid header.

Pivot rows carry a grip and drag to reorder. The grid and the dropdown follow the order you set, with the company, effect and DFFF blocks staying in their groups.
Put the columns you read most next to the totals; on a wide budget the difference between reading and scrolling is the ordering.
The choice and the order **persist for that budget** and travel with it when it is copied. A budget set up for a coproduction keeps its company columns; the next budget starts from the defaults again.
That is why it is worth setting up once at the start rather than re-toggling each session.
**Columns are a view.** Nothing here changes a value. Switching a company column on does not assign anything — it shows assignments that already exist — see [show company and effect columns](/kb/article/show-company-and-effect-columns).
