Budgeting
You can keep the quote or offer behind a number attached to the line it justifies.
Select an account and open the **Attachments** panel in the account details. Add the file; the trash removes it.
The document a number came from — a supplier quote, a rate card, a signed agreement, a location offer.
The test is whether someone questioning the figure would ask to see it. If yes, attach it. If it is context rather than evidence, a note is lighter — see [add notes to accounts](/kb/article/add-notes-to-accounts).
A quote in a shared folder is findable by whoever knows the folder. A quote on the account is findable by whoever is looking at the number — which is a different, larger group, and is always the right group at the moment the question arises.
It also survives the handover. Budgets outlive the people who built them.
Attachments show as a dot in the Account Details column, so the lines backed by evidence are distinguishable from the lines backed by memory at a glance.
Not a document management system, and not a place for the whole contract set. One or two documents per line, each justifying that line.
