Budgeting
You can apply fringes and supplements to an account, choose the subaccounts each one covers, and adjust a supplement for one person with the factor.
You add fringes (statutory contributions) and supplements (premiums such as overtime) to an account and choose which of its subaccounts each one covers. You need one account selected in Budgeting and a licence other than **Free**.
In the account details of the selected account, click  **Edit fringes & supplements** on the **Fringes & Supplements** panel. KOSMA opens the dialog for this account.
If the account has subaccounts, tick under **Apply to subaccounts** the subaccounts the fringes or supplements apply to, or tick **All**. Tick them on the **Fringes** tab and again on the **Supplements** tab. KOSMA keeps separate ticks for each tab. In practice, fringes usually cover all subaccounts, and supplements only the subaccounts of the shoot.
On the **Fringes** tab, expand a group and tick the fringes that apply. KOSMA shows each ticked row's **Percentage** and the **Total** it adds. If a fringe you need is missing from the list, add it in Settings, see [define wage fringes](/kb/article/define-wage-fringes).
As soon as a fringe group's total is above 0, KOSMA shows next to it:

As soon as the supplements on this account add up to more than 0, KOSMA shows instead:
(calculated on account total + supplement total)
KOSMA shows this second note whether or not you tick **Automatically add wage fringes to supplements** in step 5. Only that option decides whether KOSMA charges fringes on the supplements.
If a fringe you applied has a limit per day, enter in **Timebase (days) for fringe limits** how many work days the limit covers. KOSMA then charges the fringe at most up to the limit per day times the days in **Timebase (days) for fringe limits**. KOSMA uses the limit only when the fringe has a limit per day above 0 and the timebase is above 0. Without a timebase, KOSMA charges the fringe in full. Enter a number, or take it from the account with one of two functions:

If you enter any other function, KOSMA does not save the value and shows:
Only ACCOUNT\_QTY and SUBACCOUNT\_QTY are allowed — '{what you entered}' is not.
To remove the timebase, empty the field.
On the **Supplements** tab, expand a group and tick the supplements that apply. Each ticked row shows **Percentage Of Work Time**, **Factor** and **Total**. If a supplement you need is missing from the list, add it in Settings, see [define wage supplements](/kb/article/define-wage-supplements).
If the person on this account works more or less overtime than the supplement's definition assumes, enter a **Factor**. KOSMA multiplies the supplement by the **Factor**. An empty **Factor** counts as 1. For example, the definition assumes 10 % overtime, and the person on this account works 20 %. Set **Factor** to 2. KOSMA doubles the supplement and leaves **Percentage Of Work Time** at 10. If you enter a **Factor** in a row you have not ticked, KOSMA ticks the row.
You can enter a formula in **Factor** in place of a number. To see the formulas in **Factor** and in **Timebase (days) for fringe limits** in place of their values, click  **Show/hide expressions**. Click it again to see the values.
If your production pays the fringes of this account on its supplements as well, tick **Automatically add wage fringes to supplements**. KOSMA then calculates the fringes on the account total plus the supplement total and updates the totals at once. On an account created in KOSMA 3, this option is off.
Click **Ok**. KOSMA saves the fringes and supplements on this account. To discard everything you changed since you opened the dialog, click **Cancel** or close the dialog.
To remove every fringe and every supplement from this account and start over, click **Reset Fringes** or **Reset Supplements**. Both buttons have the same effect on either tab: KOSMA removes every fringe and every supplement from this account and clears every subaccount tick on both tabs, without asking. Until you click **Ok**, you can undo this: click **Cancel**, and KOSMA restores them.
**Reuse a combination.** If you apply the same selection to several accounts, save it once as a preset. You apply a saved preset straight from the account details, without opening the dialog. Fringes and supplements keep separate preset lists, so a combination that you use on both tabs needs a preset on each. With a subaccount selected, the **Fringes & Supplements** panel shows the entries of its account, and you cannot change them there. Select the account itself. With several accounts selected whose fringes and supplements differ, the panel shows:

If you click  **Reset fringes & supplements**, KOSMA first asks you to confirm, then removes every fringe and every supplement from all selected accounts and clears their subaccount ticks. To apply fringes and supplements, select one account.
KOSMA greys out  **Edit fringes & supplements** when you cannot change this budget. The panel still shows the fringes and supplements on the account. When you point at **Edit fringes & supplements**, KOSMA shows why. On a **Free** licence, which you also have after a trial ends, KOSMA shows:
This dataset is locked because your Free licence does not allow editing it. Upgrade your licence — or ask your team admin, if your licence comes from a team.

As a guest, you can change a budget only when you have editing access to it. Without editing access, KOSMA shows:
This dataset was shared with you and cannot be edited. To make changes, create a copy.
If the budget is linked to a cost control set, KOSMA shows:
This budget is locked because it is linked to a Cost Control set. To make changes, create a copy.
If you are not signed in, KOSMA shows:
This dataset is read-only because you are not signed in. Log in again to make changes.
