Budgeting
You can apply extra costs to an account and scale them to what that person actually incurs.
Select the account, then click **Extra Costs** in the account details.
Under **Extra Costs Groups**, expand a group and tick the costs this person incurs. **Value** and **Total** show what each one contributes as you go.
The list offers only what is defined in Settings. **Settings**, at the top right of the dialog, opens those definitions without losing your place — see [define extra costs](/kb/article/define-extra-costs) if what you need is not there.
**Multiplier** adapts the definition's standard quantity to this account:
The definition is one hotel night at 95.00. This person stays thirty-five nights. Set the multiplier to **35**.
It accepts formulas, so the count can come from somewhere else in the budget rather than being typed — the number of shoot days, for instance, so a schedule change carries through to the hotel bill.
The **fx** button switches the columns between values and the formulas behind them.
Click **Ok**. **Cancel** discards the changes; **Reset** clears every extra cost from this account.
**Reusing a combination.** A recurring package — the travel-and-per-diem set every crew member on location gets — is worth saving once as a **preset**. Extra costs use the same mechanism fringes and supplements do, on their own separate list: saving, applying, the ten-per-type ceiling and the two behaviours to know before you rely on one are all covered in [save and reuse a fringe preset](/kb/article/save-and-reuse-a-fringe-preset). The only part specific to this side is the name: the account details panel carries an **Extra Cost Presets** section, so a routine account is one pick in the panel rather than a trip through this dialog.
