Financing
You can split a source's total into installments, each with its own amount and payment date, and delete an installment you no longer need.
When a source pays its money in stages, you split its total into installments. Each installment has its own amount and its own payment date. For example, a fund pays 30 % when the financing is closed, 40 % on the first shooting day and 30 % at the rough cut. To change installments, you need a licence that covers Financing. In the Demo Project, you can change them with every licence.
Select the source, or one of its installments, and click  **Installment**. KOSMA opens **Set Cash Flow Rule – Installments** for the source. If the source has no installments yet, the dialog already contains a first installment for the whole total of the source.
Click  **Add** after the last installment. KOSMA adds an installment for the part of the total that no other installment covers yet. If the other installments already cover the whole total, the new one starts at 0. KOSMA names it Installment 2, Installment 3 and so on, in English in every interface language. Replace the name with the payment it stands for, for example Financing Closed or First Shooting Day. A source can have up to 10 installments. After the tenth, KOSMA no longer shows **Add**.
In the field after the name, enter the installment's share. Click the switch next to the field to switch between a percentage of the source's total and an amount in the source's currency. When you enter a percentage, KOSMA saves the amount it gives at that moment.
If you change the source's amount later, its installments keep their amounts and no longer add up to the new total. KOSMA shows no warning in the plan. Open the installments again and change the amounts.
For each installment, click  and choose a milestone from the list, or click  and enter a date. In the field before **Days**, enter how many days after that milestone or date the money arrives, 0 or more. As soon as a source has installments, **Received** counts only the installments' schedules and ignores the source's own cash flow rule. Once every installment has an amount above 0 and a milestone or a date, and the amounts add up to the source's total, click **Ok**. KOSMA shows the installments as rows under the source in the grid, in the order of the dialog. To undo everything you changed in the dialog, click **Cancel**. To reset the amounts and schedules, click **Reset**. KOSMA removes the milestone, date and days from every installment, gives the first installment the whole total and sets the others to 0. The names stay.
**Delete an installment.** Select the installment and click  **Delete**. KOSMA opens **Set Cash Flow Rule – Installments** for the installment's source. The installment stays until you delete it there. On the installment's line, click . KOSMA adds its amount to the last installment in the list, and the other installments keep their amounts. Click **Ok**. A source with installments keeps at least one. When only one is left, its  is greyed out.
**What an installment has.** An installment has a name, an amount and a schedule. When you select an installment, the **Source Details** panel shows its source. Company, effect, tax, tag, note and attachment belong to the source. The **Status** cell of an installment stays empty, because the status of the source applies to it. If you change the source's currency, its installments change to the new currency. You cannot drag installments in the grid.
**Installment** stays greyed out until you select a source or one of its installments. No tooltip tells you this. If the button stays greyed out while a source is selected, you cannot edit this plan. Point at the button to see the reason. With a Budget or Cost Control licence, the tooltip reads:
You don't have editing access to this module with your licence. Upgrade your licence — or ask your team admin, if your licence comes from a team.

**If a pasted source shows nothing received.** When you paste a copied source, its installments keep their names and amounts but lose their schedules. Until each installment has a milestone or a date again, the source shows no **Received** value. Select the source, click  **Installment** and set the schedules as in step 4.
