Budgeting
You can add groups and accounts, and you know where a new row will land before you click.
You add groups and accounts with  **Group** and  **Account** in the toolbar above the budget. KOSMA adds the new row to the category selected under **Categories** on the left. Where the row lands in that category depends on the row you select first. The table at the end of this article shows every case.
Select the group you want the new group to follow, or an account in that group, and click  **Group**. KOSMA adds a group named **New Group** with the next free number. Replace **New Group** with the name of your group.
Select the group or the account where you want the new account, and click  **Account**. KOSMA adds an account named **New Account** with the next free number. The account starts with a quantity of 1 and a price of 0, in the currency selected in the toolbar.
If the category has no group yet, **Account** is greyed out. Add a group first.
Enter the name, the quantity and the price of the account. For every field of an account, see [edit a budget account](/kb/article/edit-a-budget-account).

A new account in an unexpected place usually means that you had no row selected when you clicked **Account**.
While a filter is active, KOSMA greys out **Group**, **Account** and **Subaccount**. When you point at one of them, KOSMA shows this tooltip:

Clear the filter as described in [filter a budget](/kb/article/filter-a-budget), and the buttons work again.
KOSMA also greys out both buttons when you cannot edit the budget, for example on a Free licence or when someone shared the budget with you for reading only. See [what your licence includes](/kb/article/what-your-licence-includes).
**Move a row afterwards.** To move a row, drag it by the **No.** column to its new place. A row stays on its level: you move an account within its group or into another group, a subaccount within its account or into another account, and a group among the other groups.
